CMA Connect, Fareham

CMA Connect was started by a group from Christians Together in Fareham who recognised that there was a local need for personally-delivered, confidential debt advice.  Even in the most difficult of times they knew that there is always hope for the future and so they started working to share that hope with anyone struggling with debt in the Fareham and Gosport area.

The local group decided to align themselves with a national charity, CMA Connect, and to establish a local “franchise”.  Even with support from the national charity, start-up costs of some £10,000 were identified and CMA sought funding from a range of sympathetic organisations.  The Fareham Well had also been founded as a Christians Together project so was pleased to be involved and contributed £3000 to help towards the costs of basic office equipment, training of advisors, registration etc.

A few years later the project is now well-established and is delivering on its aims of helping local people to address their debts and to plan for the future in the knowledge that they have committed advisors and mentors supporting them.
